No, but we offer daily nature drives within our wilderness reserve, with exceptional viewing of indigenous plains game, including the rare and endangered Cape Mountain Zebra, Bontebok, Gemsbok, Eland, Springbok, and others. This also makes the reserve completely safe to explore unguided, either on foot or mountain bicycle.

How far is the lodge from Cape Town and how easy is the drive?
Bushmans Kloof is 270 km from Cape Town; it’s a scenic, easy drive on a tarred road, which leads all the way to the reserve gate. Note that currently there are road works underway from Malmesbury to Clanwilliam with Stop/Go Controls, which are causing delays. Allow 3.5 to 4.5 hours driving time. The road from the reserve entrance to the lodge is a gravel road; however it is accessible by any type of vehicle.
What does rate include?
Luxury accommodation and all meals (Full English Breakfast, A la Carte Light Lunch, Afternoon High Tea and A La Carte Dinner), a variety of enriching and exhilarating lodge activities, including nature drives, guided rock art excursions, botanical walks, canoeing, archery, fly fishing, hiking, swimming, special interest presentations (birding, stargazing, entomology, social responsibilities and rock art) or merely relaxing. Also included is complimentary WIFI and a welcome drink.
Are children allowed and what activities are there for them?
Children 8 years and over are welcome - a surcharge would apply when sharing with 2 full paying adults. Our family Villa Koro Lodge is suitable for families with children of all ages. This fully independently catered for family experience promises that together with your children, you may discover, enrich, explore and enjoy the wonders of nature, and where life long bonding memories can be made
Located approximately 4 kilometres from the main lodge, and within easy walking distance of one of the main dams, Koro Lodge is completely private and includes the services of a dedicated Chef and Guide for the duration of your family getaway.
A special fun fulfilled children's programme will be offered to entertain and stimulate the young ones, in addition to exciting outdoor family or group activities, such as mountain biking, canoeing (equipped with life jackets), hiking, star gazing, and swimming.
When is the best time to visit the Bushmans Kloof?
Summer days at Bushmans Kloof are very warm. Long, temperate evenings and early dawns make for wonderful relaxation and bird watching. Summer is very dry for the most part, but occasionally we’ll experience a spectacular afternoon thundershower.
Winter can be chilly, reaching low temperatures at night; perfect for cosy, fireside evenings. The annual rainfall of low-lying areas in winter is 700mm, while higher peaks receive a dusting of snow. View our weather information page for more details.
What are the Visa requirements for entry to South Africa?
Please note that for entering South Africa, immigration requires that all passengers have a valid passport and at least four pages are needed to remain blank for the issuing of stamps. The passport also needs to be valid for at least 30 days after the intended date of departure.

Can I bring my pet with me?
Pets not allowed. The reserve has been accredited as a disease free area and no domesticated animals are allowed in the reserve, to prevent the potential spread of disease.
Who do I tell if I have specific dietary requirements?
Please advise the Reservations department when making your booking, or alternatively at check-in, and your dietary requests and requirements will gladly be relayed to the kitchen.
What is your smoking policy?
Due to the passing of the South African Tobacco Products Amendment Act, and the potential harmful effects of passive smoking, smoking is only allowed on the terrace of guest rooms. In respect of the legislation, we kindly request all our guests to adhere to the non-smoking policy within the designated areas of the hotel.
