Jonathan Raggett has worked in hotels since leaving Westminster College with a Higher National Diploma in Hotel Management. Jonathan joined RCH in 1998 as General Manager of The Rubens Hotel. In 2000 he was promoted to Managing Director, overseeing the rapid expansion to the 14 award-winning luxury boutique hotels and a country inn which RCH now operates. In November 2009, Jonathan Raggett was delighted to be named Hotelier of the Year at the world-renowned Hotel Catey Annual Industry Awards organised by the Caterer & Hotelkeeper.

Internationally acclaimed hotelier Terry Holmes, winner of the 2006 Caterer Tourism Award, joined Red Carnation Hotels in February 2006, bringing with him his incredible passion for the hospitality industry. His tremendous career ranges from a chef to Vice President in the luxury hotel business.

James Basson has been an integral part of the Bushmans Kloof team over the past four years. He joined the lodge in 2008 after starting his career studying Marketing at Tygerberg College but quickly realised his love for the hospitality industry, particularly the Food and Beverage sector. He honed his talents between 2004 and 2008 in the Food and Beverage divisions at various top Western Cape establishments: Zorgvliet Wine Estate, Portswood Hotel as well as The Sante Winelands and Wellness Centre.
James joined Bushmans Kloof as an Assistant Food and Beverage Manager and after six months his ability, talent, hard work and passion for the industry earned his promotion to Food and Beverage Manager.
Within a brief period of time it was evident that his positive attitude, dedication and relentless perfection in standards inspired his team to a new elevated level of professionalism –with these qualities it became apparent that he was ready to move onto greater challenges and is now proud to be General Manager of this exeptional property.

After being away for a few years, Floris proclaims that Bushmans Kloof is where his heart lies and returned in June 2009 as Executive Chef. His passion for food and fine dining becomes evident when you browse through his menus with the many delectable dishes on offer. With his formal training in Hotel Management and his year of experience in managing kitchens he now has taken up more responsibility as the Assistant General Manager

Michel joined Bushmans Kloof as a graduate from The International Hotel School. He commenced his career with the Red Carnation Hotel Collection working as an intern for the lodge’s sister hotel the Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa, and with much promise and high recommendation joined the Bushmans Kloof team as Assistant Front Office Manager. He showed tremendous strength in his interactions with guests, and after a year was promoted to Assistant F&B Manager. He then gained vital guest experience as Koro Lodge Manager, and is delighted to now return to the Food & Beverage department as F&B Manager. Michel leads his team to encompass the values and standards set out by Red Carnation, as well as Relais & Chateaux.

Malcolm studied at Durban’s University of Technology and completed a diploma in Hospitality Management. He spent a year working at a hotel in Scotland within the heart of the whisky region, and then returned to South Africa as Assistant Food & Beverage Manager at Bushmans Kloof. He was later transferred to the lodge’s sister property, The Oyster Box Hotel in Umhlanga, as one of the opening team members, before returning to Bushmans Kloof in the capacity of F&B Manager. With his extensive experience gained in his previous positions, Malcolm was the perfect candidate to be selected for the role of Koro Lodge Manager. He is the epitome of a perfect host, and strives to ensure a magical guest experience at the private villa.

Beatrice Boois joined the Food and Beverage team at Bushman's Kloof in 2004. She won employee of the Year in 2008. She was promoted to Restaurant Manager in 2010. She manages the restaurant in The Homestead as well as our open-air restaurant overlooking the lily pond, Makana. She forms an integral part of the Food and Beverage Team at Bushmans Kloof. Beatrice possesses great interpersonal skills and guests enjoys her individualised service and attention to detail immensely.

Cecile started at Bushmans Kloof having just left the spa industry and showing an interest in the administration side of the hospitality industry. She joined us in the capacity of the Assistant Front Office Manager and her enthusiasm for 5 star quality service proved to be infectious and quickly spread through the rest of the team. Cecile has now been promoted into the position of Front Office Manager where she also represents Bushmans Kloof as the liaison for our Virtuoso clients.

Regardt joined Bushmans Kloof having just completed his Field Guide course and internship. Lisa joined the Red Carnation Hotel Collection in 2007 as a Reservations Agent for the Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa. In July 2009, she was promoted to Reservations Manager for Bushmans Kloof where she gained valuable experience in understanding the importance of creating a lasting impression and exceeding guests' expectations. Since May 2010 Lisa has occupied the role of Reservations Manager for both the Twelve Apostles Hotel and Bushmans Kloof.

Jill Wagner started her career in hospitality with Southern Sun after completing Hotel School in Johannesburg at the Witwatersrand Technikon.
She joined the Southern Sun sales team in 1988 and was promoted to Regional Sales Manager/Director of Sales Inter-Continental Hotels in 1996. In 1998 she was appointed by Halcyon Hotels as Group Sales Manager in 1998.
Jill became part of the Bushmans Kloof family in 2000 as Sales and Marketing Manager, where she represented the lodge for 10 years and in 2010 she was promoted to Marketing Manager for The Red Carnation Hotel Collection South Africa.

Sally has extensive experience in the hospitality and travel industries, having spent the past 20 years, in various capacities, working within the Thompsons Travel Group. Most recently she has held the position of General Manager: Global Sales for Thompsons Africa and brings a wealth of skill and experience to developing both the international and domestic travel markets on behalf of the Red Carnation Hotel Group portfolio. She is integrally involved in the day to day running of the business, from formulating strategy, to the building of the brand, establishing and maintaining relationships with Clients. Based at The Oyster Box in Umhlanga, Sally is responsible for the Sales of all the Red Carnation Group’s South African operations.

Nicole, who has been with The Red Carnation Group for the past ten years, brings both operational and sales experience to her new role as Sales Manager. In May 2008 she was promoted to Guest Relation Manager of The Twelve Apostles Hotel, specifically looking after in a sales capacity, the Key Consortia Relationships with large corporates such as Virtuoso and American Express, before becoming Assistant Sales and Marketing manager at The Twelve Apostles Hotel in 2009. In 2010 Nicole was appointed as Sales Manager for the Red Carnation Hotel Collection over seeing all sales activities for both The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa and Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve & Wellness Retreat.
