Day One

14:00 Arrive at Bushmans Kloof for an early afternoon check-in at the Manor House. Families are introduced to their guides who will escort them to their rooms and do an orientation of the Lodge.

15:30 A Family High Tea buffet with a delicious variety of hot and cold items followed by welcome and introduction of the staff. Name badges and torches are issued to all the children.

16:30 Families depart on the evening nature drive with sundowner drinks, cool drinks and snacks served in the Reserve.

19:30 Children’s dinner – a delicious child-friendly dinner is served. After dinner, children depart for a night- walk around the Lodge with their guide to spot frogs, snails, porcupine and more. This is followed by games in the Homestead Lounge before bedtime, while parents enjoy their dinner. Children will be supervised until 22:00.

Parents pre-dinner drinks followed by dinner – venue to be confirmed by your guide during the evening nature drive.

Day Two

08:00 A light Continental Breakfast is served followed by a Family Rock Art Excursion.

11:00 The famous Bushmans Kloof Brunch Buffet.

12:00 Enjoy a family siesta and spend quality time together after a sumptuous brunch.

13:30 A variety of children’s activities on the front lawns (weather dependent). Don’t forget your bathing suits, hats and sunscreen!

15:30 A Family High Tea buffet with a delicious variety of hot and cold items.

16:30 Parent’s depart on the evening Nature Drive with sundowner drinks and snacks in the Reserve.

17:00 Children and guides depart the Lodge for a special braai at Kadoro, an old stone cottage in the Reserve. This will include an exciting night drive on the way back where we will be on the look-out for nocturnal animals. Those children who would like to sleep out at Kadoro can do so if the weather permits. They will be accompanied by a guide and a childminder. Guides will enquire at Brunch to confirm with parents which of the children would like to sleep out.

19:30 Parent’s meet for pre-dinner drinks followed by dinner – venue to be confirmed by your guide during the Nature Drive.

Day Three

07:30 Children arrive back from the sleep-out in the Reserve.

08:30 Parent’s depart on the Nature Drive and Rock Art Excursion with a light Bush Breakfast in the Reserve.

Children’s activity: Collect ‘Bushman Treasures’ (stones, sticks, bones, flowers, seeds). Spoor tracking and trapping of insects followed by a light Breakfast enjoyed in the Reserve. Don’t forget your hats and sunscreen!

11:00 Family Brunch followed by family quality time together.

13:30 Children’s afternoon activity - Participate in an exciting afternoon of table tennis and cricket challenges as well as other fun and games. Learn to paint like the Bushmen on rocks and with natural brushes. The Bushmen used to hunt with bows and arrows; you too can now practice this ancient skill.

15:30 Family High Tea – a scrumptious buffet of healthy and sweet treats.

16:30 Depart the Lodge for a Family Nature Drive with sundowners and snacks in the Reserve.

19:30 A delicious child-friendly dinner is served while parent’s meet for pre-dinner drinks and dinner.

20:30 Children’s evening activity - DVD’s to be screened in the Homestead Lounge.
Bring your Work Books!! Children will be supervised until 22h00.

Day Four

09:00 Family Buffet Breakfast – Children to hand their activity folders to the guides where the best folder will be chosen followed by Prize-Giving and Photo Session.

12:00 Check-out

Note: The itinerary is merely a guideline with suggestions and activities do change according to the weather conditions. Any private babysitting required out of the normal programme will be charged at R60 per hour.
