NEW DEVELOPMENTS AT BUSHMANS KLOOF |
|
The award-winning Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve & Retreat has undertaken a number of new developments to further refine its unique, world-class wilderness offering. Less than three hours’ drive from Cape Town, Bushmans Kloof is a 7500 hectare, luxury ecological oasis located at the foothills of the breathtaking Cederberg mountains, where majestic views, invigorating outdoor activities, luxurious accommodation, award-winning cuisine and soothing spa treatments combine to create an unforgettable, luxury wilderness experience. The refurbishment of the lodge’s seven Luxury Rooms, as well as the six Deluxe Rooms has just been completed, elevating all lodge accommodation to the same sumptuous standards and quality, as well as signature décor and style, of the three Suites and of its exclusive, independently catered-for villa, Koro Lodge. Designed by Toni Tollman to provide guests with supreme luxury, privacy and effortless relaxation, each of the guest rooms at Bushmans Kloof has now been meticulously transformed into a shelter of comfort and stylish, contemporary elegance, in bold contrast to the surrounding natural wilderness landscape. A new addition to the Deluxe Rooms, mod-cons such as flatscreen TV's, DVD players and ipods add a decidedly more modern touch. Complementing the new interiors are luxurious amenities of the finest quality, such as beautifully embroidered percale pure cotton sheets and duvets, as well as soft mohair bed throws from Swaziland. At the same time, the Bushmans Kloof spa experience has also been raised to new levels with the introduction of Africology, a new proudly South African spa product, as well as the addition of an outdoor spa gazebo to offer guests an unrivalled relaxation experience in the African wilderness. With its tranquil, riverside setting, the spa gazebo is masterfully crafted to provide total seclusion and privacy to individual guests or couples indulging in one of the Touch Therapy treatments offered here. Large glass windows and doors open the gazebo on three sides, offering panoramic views of the river and surrounding, ancient landscape, while the natural wooden latte structure blends harmoniously with the environment. The gazebo is fitted with a remote air-conditioning unit, providing cool air in summer and heating in winter, and has two specially designed massage beds for couples to enjoy a dual massage experience, whilst the outdoor timber deck is the ideal area for a pampering manicure and pedicure. Marking the pinnacle in the global reputation of Bushmans Kloof, where unparalleled guest service, refreshed luxury accommodation and an unrivalled pampering experience coalesce to offer a matchless luxury wilderness experience, the travel industry has tipped its hat awarding Bushmans Kloof no less than five coveted tourism accolades in 2008. The reserve has been named among the world’s finest hotels in the Forbes Traveller 400 Best Hotels for 2008/9, and among the Top 50 Resorts in Africa in the prestigious US Conde Nast Traveler World's Best Awards 2008, while National Geographic Adventure Magazine has included Bushmans Kloof among the world’s Top 50 Eco Lodges for 2008. Locally, the reserve was named ‘Top Tourist Facility’ on the West Coast for 2008 in South Africa’s third annual West Coast Tourism Gala Awards, while Kadoro, the sheperd’s cottage in the heart of the reserve, which may be booked for an ‘extraordinary dining experience’ heads the Top Ten Experiences for 2008 on premier tour operator, New Frontiers Tours’ coveted list.
