The beautifully styled Relais and Chateaux lodge offers exceptional value, magnificent luxurious accommodation, impeccable service, delicious Cape cuisine and pampering spa treatments. Time together with the children can be spent visiting some of the meticulously kept rock art sites of the San and the Heritage Centre, mountain biking, hiking through the reserve, canoeing, fishing, or swimming in the crystal clear rock pools.
Recognized for its immense contribution to conserving the abundant indigenous flora, wildlife and priceless San heritage entrusted to its care, Bushmans Kloof has been named a South African Natural Heritage site. Custodian of more than 130 San rock art sites, it is known as one of the world’s largest open-air galleries and is malaria and predator free.
Children will discover fascinating facts about animals, plants and birds, as well as the culture and history of the San, including their rock art, hunting techniques and tracking of animals, and may also try their hand at creating their own ‘rock art’. The guides supervise all the child-friendly activities, including a fun option of camping out in the reserve on the last night.
Delicious and nutritious early children’s suppers are served daily. Afterwards guides and child minders entertain the little mites with night-walks, game drives or DVD’s while parents enjoy a romantic dinner for two presented one of the stunning dining venues.)
Parents can also restore and be pampered together in the breathtaking riverside setting of the new open-air Spa Gazebo. Here they may choose from the wellness programme of signature spa treatments and massages using the newly introduced Africology, or world renowned Elemis range of products.
