We are proud sponsors of the wonderful research done by the Cape Leopard Trust. We’re keenly involved with the South African Botanical Society and Cape Nature for the protection of the endangered Clanwilliam Cedar. As well as this, Bushmans Kloof is associated with the Northern Cederberg Conservancy for its participation in the eradication of alien vegetation and the promotion of ecologically sound farming practices.
We have implemented a number of research projects ourselves, including a comprehensive survey of the Cederberg’s reptiles and amphibians alongside the University of Stellenbosch’s SCARCE unit. A photographic identification project has been undertaken for the Cape Mountain Zebra, proudly protected on the reserve. We are also actively involved with the protection of the Clanwilliam Yellowfish, an endangered species wholly endemic to the Olifants River system.
