Six of the best
Our sixth and best visit to Bushmans Kloof. The tranquillity of the Cederberg mountains, and the opportunity to view rock paintings created a thousand years ago, are just two of the things which make this such a special venue - a place to restore the soul. Plus, the staff, all of them, are marvellous..

Feast of Flavours - Food and Wine Weekend
We spent Friday and Saturday nights at this wonderful lodge, The Saturday dinner was a Tasting menu paired with Meerlust wines. It was a feast of flavours , for me the high lite was the main which was an OXTAIL, outstanding. the whole meal was great , accompany by good wines. Even though it rained the whole weekend ,we had a great time doing not much ,but spoiling ourselves, Spa etc. Great service, friendly staff . Bushman's gets better it is our 4 visit we love this GEM. In the CEDERBERG.

Fabulous hideaway in South Africa
We visited Bushmans Kloof in mid winter and during our stay was the coldest day of the year! But we still had a great time. We stayed in a villa a 10 minute bike ride away from the main lodge. We had our own chef who came to prepare our breakfast, lunch and dinner which was a real treat. There was a kitchen in our villa which was handy to dive into for bottles of delicious South African white wine. The decor of the villa (3 bedrooms) was stunning and elegant. The sitting room had a log fire, lit each evening for us. The attention to detail was exceptional, everything had been thought of. There was a swimming pool but obviously not usable in winter. There were excursions with an archaeologist to see the many ancient rock paintings on the reserve and also with a ranger to see the local flora and fauna. No big game here but still interesting to see the birds, unusual flowers and animals. A very restful place with superb cuisine. The staff is second to none. Highly recommended.

Just spent weekend up at Bushmans Kloof for a intimate small private wedding, WOW stunning. Service outstanding and the staff go extra mile. The wedding was in four places with a different experience in each, really awesome. Loved the tranquillity of the place, 1000's of birds so stunning.

Your staff is the jewels in your crown
I have arrived back in the UK and have not stopped shivering! Just looked at the weather where you are....Not Fair"! However we did have a cold front whilst I was there and I do remember having two blankets wrapped round me during dinner! I would like to congratulate you on your hotel and resort. You have an amazing location, rooms, food, wine, but your staff is the jewels in your crown. From the moment we arrived to the moment we regretfully left, we met with courtesy, professionalism, humour and people who were obviously motivated in their jobs. This, of course, has to come from the management, so that must mean you. I especially recommend Roman our Rock Art guide, so knowledgeable and able to convey the history of his people in such a moving way. The Oyster Box has always been my favourite hotel in the world but I think you have now taken over! Thank you for making my stay with you so memorable and please convey my thanks to all your staff.
Thank you so much for having us! It was an awesome experience to have stayed at Bushmans Kloof! We really enjoyed every minute of it!
Everything was perfect
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bushmans Kloof: everything was perfect – the fantastic location; the comfortable accommodation; the wonderfully pleasant staff for whom nothing was too much to ask and the excellent food. All in all it was the perfect short break for us. We would like to especially commend two staff members who went the extra mile, namely Portia and Beatrice. Malcolm and Caroldene also warrant a special mention. One could not find better trained and pleasant staff anywhere in the world.
